I bought this one from a link in the above thread:

Here is what I got:

I think the pics speak for themselves.

Yeah there's no point in buying a Chinese Tech knock off when you can get a real Gillette Tech for like $10 off Ebay or the B/S/T here.
Yes it may be $8 more expensive but at least you know it's high quality. Who knows what chemicals are used in making those Chinese razors? I wonder if those razors have ever been tested for Lead or other toxins?

I recently bought a pair and used one for a week. I gave the other to my son who forgot to bring his Dopp home for the holidays. It is a miracle these lightweight razor parts maintained their shape after shipping from Asia. I got fine shaves from the razor I used, but the parts are easily deformed. I wouldn't rely on one for travel. I got my first Tech for less than $3 on eBay. I think this is a better bet.

Thanks for the quick response and advice i will go for a Gillette safety razor when i can find one around 10 dollar include shipment.

You can get good ones from China, but quality is inconsistent and it's best to know what you're doing before you go that route.

Of note, I have heard people on here say that about Merkur, FaTip, and many other brands. YMMV. Better to get an ugly vintage razor off the BST (your best bet) or the Bay or drop 25-30 for the baseline Merkur or EJ, or the Feather Popular. Heard good stuff about Lord razors, if you are trying to save a buck, but get em from a reputable vendor.

I'd vote for a pre-war Tech (triangular slot) of some type as the cheapest razor I'd recommend. Unless funds were incredibly tight, in which case the Sodial is the only under $5 I'd even think about.

I would think of a razor in the sub $5 price range as a disposable. I think it's better for the environment to spend $50 on a razor that will last several generations.

Thanks for all the feedback i have see maggard safety razors they are of much better quility than the cheap bargain razors and made of much better material than the lord l6 /silver tone ebay safty razor.
magard go for the price of $15,95 that is in euro around €11 very cheap but of great quility.
i need a travel razor i use my self a merkur futur and i have but never use it a parker 91r i doint whant to loose them in a hotel when im traveling.
Can some one give me advise about the maggard.

I have a Maggard MR1. Basically, all the Maggard heads are the same (designed around the EJDE89). So you choose whichever handle you like the best. The only negative I see with Maggard is that they seem to run out of stock a lot. If you have any specific questions, let me know. The owners are very quick to reply to orders and they ship very quickly after you place your order.

I just recieve the ri mei i doint whant even call it a safity razor its to low of quility to give it That title.
furst it pulls and not shaves and pull my skin the razor is to close to the my skin the material of the head is crap the most safity razors runs smooth over Your skin This one not.
what a piece of *****
from my point over priced for the 2$ i spend
The only + point here it fill my garbage can

Did you use the blade provided? If so, that may have been the problem. It pulled rather than cut my whiskers. I put an Astra SP in and went to town. Fine shave!

If you are inserting a razor blade into an object and running it across your face I would want the highest quality razor possible. No do not buy a $3 razor.
