I was looking at a new razor to purchase and i came by this http://www.classicshaving.com/catalog/item/522941/6460096.htm. It looks like classicshaving.com's version of the older Gillette SS. I was wondering if anyone has used this razor and if they would recommend it. I didnt see a review on B&B for this razor so i though i would ask.

You can get a REAL Gillette Super Speed for less than that.
Save your money.
Pick up a black handle Super-Speed two weeks ago at a antique store for allot less.

I just like the idea of having a brand new "Gillette SS type" razor. Granted I could find a great condition SS for a decent price on ebay.
I would recommend a Gillette SS. I had the copy and the SS. Gillette is a better product and it's miles away from the copy. You can find nice stuff on ebay but I would recommend the Buy/Sale/Trade section of this forum, you would get a better deal and there are a ton of SS for sale at the moment.

I bought that same razor your looking at. It actually resembles a merkur hd in long handle tto design. It is a Parker 80R. The one I received was badly defective. Brassing, tto head very noticably aligned improperly, from bottom of handle to knob had a bowed/bent look. I returned it and only lost the return shipping money. One Parker that I would recommend is the 91R. It is the 3 piece version of the link you posted. Amazon has it with free shipping cased with blades.
