Safety Razor Blade Sharpeners.

Anyone tried these ? Do they work?

I have not used one but I imagine they would work up to a point, and possibly be more effective with a thicker vintage blade. I guess the effect would be similar to stropping a blade which I have done as a test on denim and leather. I have seen several different blade sharpeners, I think Rotbart also made one, and no doubt there are those who collect them; I would not be surprised if members of the Excalibur Club use them. Any moment now, someone will miss the point completely by informing us that there is no point to such devices due to the low price of blades

I have an old Twinplex purchased off eBay. It's really a stropper rather than a sharpener. I have used it on a test blade. Results are mixed. I think I need to learn the tool better.

@EclipseRedRing - Exactly, im all about stuff not going to landfill, i got 500 blades delivered this morning and it got me thinking, i had a read at the Excalibur thread and was nearly crying with pride with the amount of shaves some of them got .

Just read that the above glass is " Uranium glass " maybe ill go for one of the mechanical devices, no point shaving if your bottom jaw falls off due to the radiation.

It's been 5 days since this post, & still the door is wide open. I'll walk through! There is no point to such devices due to the low price of blades.
