Wow, you guys are serious! I feel the syndrome coming on. 3 razors so far, dollar store special, Merkur Progress, and a DE86 with rubber handle is on it's way. Really want to try some old stuff though. I'm eyeballing some old Gillettes with the thin heads, that seems very appealing compared to today's beefy heads.

Look what I've got. You might think this is a Rocket, but no, it is a Gillette "500" (I know, I know, they are the same) It came from France, that's why it is a "500". All brass, nickel plated. Weight is 70g, according to my scales. Has the patent number on the bottom plate, so post 1955. Decent condition, it was an auction and I won it at a pretty low price.

I got a GEM featherweight in great condition yesterday, as well as a Stubby Shave Meister razor off of ebay. I got the latter because Geofatboy made a video about the Chubby razor, which is the same thing, rebadged, and at three times the price. Average quality zamak head, stainless steel handle (303), plus 50 silver Star blades, for 19 bucks. Cute little thing.

The 500's are one of my top 3 favorites for a smooth efficient shave. Congratulations!
