I shaved a fortune
The "high" bakelite box had a few versions (different hinge, colour, blade cases) and names. Most were No 77 (razors can be 2 or 3 piece Rfb New and flat bottom Techs).
Other "high" bakelite sets are: Candian New Regent, No 10 London, No 45, 46 Popular, No 48 Aristocrat Jr..
The flat bakelite cased sets were No 25 with fb New and Tech heads (also Seven O' clock and Rubie, iIrc), Rfb came in the No 44 set. No24 was a later Tech set.
I'm glad you weighed in. I love the Bakelite boxes.... as well as so many other of the Gillette packaging options. I could probably find it on google but do you have any idea how much the presentation boxes cost compared to a more simple packaging option? In addition, how many packaging options were there for the FBTs and RFB razors and the other Tech options of those years?

Another triple header today. First up is my one and only Big Fellow, a 1921 Silver Edition (No. 747744A). Essentially, all the glue had dried out and the case was falling apart when it arrived. I've glued it back together, and it appears to be solid. I'll let it cure overnight. The razor was in great shape, but it has a barely visible crack in the top of the center tube. I did clean and polish it though because it was heavily tarnished. I used baking soda and peroxide toothpaste rubbed in with my fingers. I also put some paste on a used up jeweler's cloth. I used saliva (gross?) to activate the toothpaste. The razor was heavily tarnished when it arrived, but looks incredible after the clean and "spit" polish. I have a "spare" silver blade bank that will find a home in this case. I look forward to shaving with this Big Fellow.

Next up is a 1921 Standard NEW Improved in Silver (No. 664247A) that came along for the ride with the Big Fellow. I got it for only $16 (much less than the Big Fellow). The case is in nice shape with minor tattering on some of the lining. The blade bank is beautiful. This razor was also heavily tarnished but cleaned up wonderfully with the spit polish treatment. This one also has the dreaded cracked center tube near the top, but the crack is almost invisible. It's probably my nicest NEW Improved (other than the pristine silver Tuckaway in the shipper that I got earlier this month).

I'm not exactly sure about what my last entry today is. I think it is a mid- to late-1950s British Rocket. These British TTOs are among my favorite razors. This one has the original Super Speed type baseplate and handle, but it uses the buttery smooth British TTO mechanism. It feels like it's all brass, weighing in at 61 grams. The baseplate also bears British Patent No. 694093, which places it no older than about 1955. Is it possible that this is an Aristocrat Jr.? This one was also a bargain as part of a lot with a Micromatic OC and a Twinplex razor stropper, all for $18 at a local estate sale. It was heavily caked up with soap scum, but I knew it would sparkle with some loving care.

I was lucky enough to find a British Rocket HD 500 in excellent condition for a more than decent price.

My latest and last for a while (I think) showed up today: The Lambda Athena.

Yet another Gillette 46-47 Aristocrat has made it to my collection.

This one has a lot more plating left than my other Aristocrat. But shows wear and brassing in spots on the handle. Was filthy when it arrived. Gave it a good cleaning then a polish and turned out better than I expected it to.

Shaves as good as it's brother!

Before and after.

Thank you very much, Butch! It's definitely a great looking razor.

And I just wanted to say great job with your recent PIF to Guido. That is a great showing of generosity! Kudos to you, sir! 👍
Well thank you very much cantujm. Makes me happy to see Guido thrilled over his new razor and hopefully he can get a lifetime worth of happiness from it….By the way, hope you and family have been dodging those recent hurricanes that have hammered different parts of Florida recently!

Thank you, we have been very lucky and only had a little wind. You just never know when those storms come through.

Nice clean up!!!

Another little lot soon to be on my counter top.
Not sure what super speeds these are with two different handles? I like the early style super speeds but will give one of these flair tips a shave and see how I like it.
Now I must fight with myself, No more razors!!

The one on the lower left looks like a 1958 D-2 TV Special. The knurling on the handles were straight up and down just like that one.
