I can’t stop...you all are enabling my sickness worse than before. It’s a group psychosis 🤪

I ordered a RR BBS last night and I’ve been looking for a NICE old style Super Speed to round out the TTOs and found it tonight.

I found Wilkinson Sword Classics for $7 and ordered 2 last week and they should be here tomorrow.

Flat Bottom Tech is coming from England so might be the end of August.

I am looking for a Valencia 501A....

I think I need help....but it is WAY cheaper than former hobbies... pre-model number S&Ws and pre-64 Winchesters.

No less that 3 packages arrived yesterday  The wonderful Japanese Citizen (Tech clone) set only took 11 days to get here all the way from Tokyo, whereas the package from the US was shipped 24th of May...!

The US pack contained a wonderful nickel/silver replate Rotbart Mont-Extra RFB, a Berkeley DE with built-in shim, and the gorgeous Ever-Ready vintage brush from @It's Hedley. Man, that is one nice, sturdy brush!!!

Last pack was the super Matador travel set!

The Japanese seller even included for free a wonderful NOS/unpacked Feather tuck of blades. So cool!!! - Good times indeed :thumbup1:

Thanks for the thread pointer! "G in bullet" wasn't going to get me there... or any place near.

Awesome Leresche, by the way! :001_wub:

So my reading is that the "G in D" clearly is Gillette's mark for plated metal goods exported to France. G for Gillette, the D is a French standard/regulation to distinguish plated goods from pure precious metal goods. So this 1920 Single Ring either moved from France to Montana, or was mistakenly sold into the US market.

I vote that it is well-travelled. France in the 1920s was a popular and affordable destination for US travellers and expats, I think. Leave your Gillette in a hotel, pick up another. If there was an entire Lost Generation, there would have been a few Lost Gillettes as well.

Either way it was a fun acquisition. Most of the weird dark coating/paint soaked off with Dawn and a little toothbrushing. The rest of the cleanup required some Wright's silver polish.
