Franken VS Franken! I love it!Got the Prewar Tech in todays' mail & put it up against my bestest & smoothest-shaving razor, the Ugly Old Style Frankenrazor - it's the standard by which I compare all new arrivals. The new Tech is now the first place razor for all comparisons. It was just a tad smoother in the 1 pass shave for both.

Nicely done. You can't go wrong with a Flare Tip or Rocket HD. Both great shavers. Congrats.Today's mail
Both of that well known auction site
Rocket hd with case and slight brassing underneath but nothing that concerns me £20
And a flair tip rocket £15 lovely condition
Couple of decent bargains I think

Newly coated by North Shore Razors is my F2 Fatboy travel razor. I realized this summer when traveling for 3 weeks that an adjustable just might be my best option when on the road, so I picked up a cheap Fatboy and Scott at NSR did the rest.

That's the laquer Gillette put on to protect the Gold finish. Leave it be, its beautiful! In all seriousness though, it will probably come off if you soak it in water fresh from a hot tea kettle.View attachment 1010303 View attachment 1010304 View attachment 1010310 Just got delivery of a Tech today. Shaves the same excellent smooth shave that Techs do. Only one problem is that it has some red stuff on the handle and bottom plate that looks like a transparent red lacquer - pics from the seller doesn't show it.
Scrubbing bubbles didn't remove it. Acetone and paint stripper didn't work either. Whatever it is, I'd like to get some in clear, since it seems impervious to everything. Sent a note to the seller asking what it may be, so I can figger out how to safely remove it, but haven't heard back yet.
Looks good, Todd! Hows the box???Very Nice!!!
Mail call for today.

Sorry, no, Gillette used a clear lacquer and it was applied evenly, and not the red stuff that was haphazardly and unevenly applied. That's the laquer Gillette put on to protect the Gold finish.
