Must be "Leather Month" .
Yesterday received a Daines and Hathaway Military Wet pack from a fellow GSL member ( Thanks Glenn ) and in todays mail received a Saddleback Trifold Large ( with the much appreciated help of johnmrson ) and replacement All-Ett Executive
This is just a quick post to give you my initial impressions of both wallets. For a more "detailed" review of the All-Ett after a bit of use see the link above.
So... the first thing you notice about the All-Ett is how it's shipped. It's shipped in a standard envelope.
You sure there's a wallet in there...?
Without the envelope:
So what's the first thing you notice about the Saddleback? The quality and thickness of the leather. This is obviously a quality piece of hide here. It's gonna last a long...long time !!!!!
Width and length wise it's only slightly wider than the All-Ett (on top )
But that's pretty much where the similarity ends sizewise:
The card slots are laid out exactly the same on both wallets, 4 pouches that you stack your cards in. The All-Ett is said to hold 20-30 cards ( 5-6 per slot ) and the Saddleback 16 cards ( 4 per slot ) .
The card slots for the Saddleback are pretty tight at the moment holding 4 cards per pocket but I'm sure they'll loosen up with time.
( Oooh, look at that convenient glare )
So here's the Saddleback fully loaded with pretty much the same stuff as the All-Ett .
So both beautiful wallets in their own way.
As mentioned in my other review, I almost never put my wallet in my back pocket. Having one cheek inches higher than the other certainly isn't good for your body.
I certainly won't be putting the Saddleback in my back pocket except in the most emergency of emergency situations. Perhaps I've been "spoilt" by the thinness of the All-Ett which will go in the back pocket and not be felt.
I'll try and post more on the Saddleback as time goes on.
