Ryanair's hand baggage guidelines...

Going to spain for a few days soon so Id prefer to take hand baggage only, obviously I need to take a razor of some kind, looking at Ryanair's prohibited items below how do you guys interpret it?. Am I going to have to leave my DE at home & take a Mach3???...

Pointed/edged Weapons & Sharp Objects; pointed or bladed articles capable of causing injury, including axes & hatchets, arrows and darts, crampons (grappling iron, hooked bar of iron, or plate with iron spikes used in mountaineering), harpoons & spears, ice axes & ice picks, ice skates, lockable or flick knives with blades of any length, knives, including ceremonial, religious and hunting knives, made of metal or any other material strong enough to be used as a potential weapon, meat cleavers, machetes, open razors and blades (excluding safety or disposable razors with blades enclosed in cartridge), sabres, swords and swordsticks, scalpels, scissors with blades of any length, ski and walking/hiking poles, throwing stars, tradesman's tools that have the potential to be used as a pointed or edged weapon, e.g. drills and drill bits, box cutters, utility knives, all saws, screwdrivers, crowbars, hammers, pliers, wrenches/spanners, blow torches.

Cheers

I think I would take my razor and plan on buying blades when there. There has to be some decent hardware in Spain, I would think.

But bring a cartridge or disposable razor just in case. The last time I traveled I could find no store open on a Sunday where I could purchase a DE blade!

Or I could put my baggage in the hold & wait 2 hours for my bag just for the sake of a good shave??? lol

Yip, really draconian laws regarding them. It is extremely silly but you just have to put up with it, either try and see if there are any shops that sell them near your hotelor just use the mach 3. Im from the UK but i never go on holiday outside the country and my work doesn't involve leaving it either so i don't have to put up with all the big brother nonsense imposed of passengers these days.

In no circumstances it is worth the grief to try and get through security carrying DE blades. If you are going to be staying in a hotel, you might be able to post a couple of blades to yourself at the hotel address but it is still a good idea to take a cartridge as a back-up.
I make regular business trips and take a brush, shave stick and a cartridge because I normally only have hand luggage with me.

Unlike the TSA, they don't explicitly mention throwing stars or nunchaku. Does that mean we have more ninjas in the US? :ninja::death::scared:

Ugh. Ryanair suck big time in every way possible. There is no way you'd be allowed take a blade on board and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they took a disposable off you too.
