Been wanting one of these for quite a while!
Rubberset 400-3.
Boiled the brush in water for about 20 minuets, put on some leather gloves, pulled it out and gave it a twist. The ferrel came right off. Drilled out the knot from the bottom and a few minuets later I had the inside of the ferrel clean and ready for a new knot.
Gave it a good cleaning and polish with Brasso. Too my surprise only two very lite dings on it. So gave it another polish with the Brasso to get some more staining off then finished it with a good bath in dawn dish soap.
I did a final wax using Mother's Brazilian Carnauba cleaner wax and she polished up wonderfully! Never touched it with sandpaper, saw no need to do so. Looks outstanding as is!
Set a Maggard 24mm two band badger knot in it. Once set will give it a tryout Sunday or Monday?
