rough Feathers

Ouch! Used some Feathers the last couple of days after staying with Derbys a while and I've been tender, to say the least, especially in the neck area. Anyone else notice this with Feathers?? Seem a little rough to me--but maybe it's just me...I'm getting a close shave, don't get me wrong: it just feels like some of my skin's going along with the stubble.

Does it feel rough when you shave or is it your face feeling tender after the shave? If you are feeling it after the shave then you have to adjust your technique as Feathers are very sharp blades.

I would recommend using no pressure if you're having that problem.

In some cases, the weight of the razor may even be too much with feather blades... you need a light touch.

They can be rough and unforgiving but once you have the right technique with them they do pay off. Do all the things (prep, pressure, etc.) right and you'll see that there is a return to the risk.

I am feeling it after the shave, so I guess I need to check my technique. Thanks for the responses guys, because I was getting ready to trade these off. But I'll focus a little bit more on technique & see what happens. Little background: I used them first in a Merkur HD...not too bad, but began to get a little irritation, next I broke out my old Weishi for a couple of tries. Back to the Merkur...after all of this it's really the neck that's suffered the most, which is, not surprisingly, the hardest part of my shave. Switching between the heavy Merk & feather-light Weishi probably didn't help.

I find the first shave with a Feather a bit rough but then they get better up to about the 5th shave for me.
