rose water or hydrosols?

Hi,

So I'm considering buying some rose water or hydrosols or toner (depending on who you buy it from its called various things)...

Looking at the QED DaVinci Water Hydrosol seen here:

http://www.qedusa.com/qedman-qedman-organic-hydrosols-p-85.html

Also looking at the Art of Shaving Hydrating Toner seen here:

http://www.theartofshaving.com/shop/product/80015/16

Does anyone have any experience with either of these products and care to comment on them? I'd appreciate any info as to which is the better of the two, etc etc. QED seems to be much cheaper, but is AOS better?

Also, do these products replace aftershaves or do you use them in conjunction with an aftershave? How do YOU use them if you have used them and what has worked for you? Thanks!!!

I have a bottle of Bigelow's Rosewater that I bought at their King of Prussia store before it went out of business. To be honest, I can't really work it into my shaving routine. It smells pleasant, but it doesn't do anything for me.

On a marginally related note, there's a great Lebanese restaurant here that adds rosewater to their sweet tea. A perfect blend of Southern and Mediterranean culture!

I bought a bottle of the QED rose water hydrosol several years ago, and used it twice. Like the Nid, I just have never worked it into my routine. Pleasant smell. My impression is that it is a nice spray to get residual lather off after shaving and rinsing with water. Doesn't replace aftershave splash.

The hydrosol works well with QED's green clay mask, either adding it to the mask "paste" or spraying it on afterwards - it's very nice and refreshing.

I could see just keeping a bottle of this in the fridge and spraying yourself on a hot day.

I use it daily, right after a cold water rinse and drying my face. I keep it in the fridge and it cools my face down and smells great. My skin tends to dry after a shave and rinse, so I find that hydrosol gives it a bit of moisture, cools down any irritation and smells good. I still apply ASB afterward, but I think that initial layer of moisture is a nice way to conclude the shave and makes me feel good. A lady friend cracked up the first time she saw me use it...she has her own bottles now.
