Rollers on the head

I have found and purchased this DE razor - then started looking for what it was. Nearest I have found is references to Wilkinson single edge razors had a roller which would bring the lather in against the blade. But the pictures of the SE - the roller is much deeper.

As you can see it is a two piece handle packed neatly for traveling.

Any ideas?

Cool find! I have no idea of the origin...Looks like an early Gillette knockoff.

Do the rollers spin?
Some attempt at a self sharpening razor?
Or maybe they just spin to help eliminate clogging.

At this point all I can say is that they appear to roll, and from what I have read of the Wilkinson Single edge like the "7 day Razor" is that the roller would bring the lather to the blade.
