Rodeo

Absolutely! My kids rodeoed in high school and college, so I spent something in the neighborhood of eight years either hauling horses to rodeos or following my kids to rodeos. Gotta love rodeo!

Who, ME??

Actually, my forum screen name has nothing to do with horses and more to do with horse power instead, as in my motorcycle or rather, my nick name for it. It's a Road Glide you see and one day while playing around with 5 letters for a potential personalized license plate, I came up with RODEO since the model is commonly called a "Roady" for short... (and no, I never did get a plate).

Anyway, been using this name in several forums to include one for my new car as well....

I happen to live in Horse Country though with many big horse farms all around me and those horses are essentially raised for the track, harness racing and thoroughbred racing too.

Any of the rodeo fans here ever made out to my part of the world for the Calgary Stampede?

There's a part of me wondering how many B&Bers we could get up here one year and have a meet up.

:biggrin1:
Speaking from some experience, I belong to a Football forum and a meet up of members gets talked about just about every year at one school stadium or another (It's a DII forum for PA schools) and it hasn't ever happened yet, despite the best of intentions...

My little brother was the Texas State youth champion team roper his senior year in high school (once Cody Ohl graduated, he was one year older) and my best friend growing up and the best man in my wedding was the PRCA rookie of the year bullrider (in 1991 I think). As for me, I've done it, don't care much for it, really hate to have to watch it. Probably too many years of exposure and too many long nights and early mornings of sitting through the "slack". I do like to watch a good tripping, but you never ever see that on TV.

I am. The biggest rodeo around here is the Angola Rodeo.

The Angola Rodeo is not to be missed! It must be remembered that these guys are not rodeo cowboys. Most of them have never even been on a ranch or a farm or even out in the country fishing and hunting. But they put on a hell of a show and show a lot of balls. One of my favorite events, which I am told has been discontinued though I can't imagine why, was "Inmate Poker". A bunch of cons sit at a table playing cards and a bull charges the table. Last one to leave the table is the winner.
