Rocnel ajustable sailor 2020

I was lucky enough to buy a ajustable 2020 model. The most technologically advanced and high-quality machine among all that I have seen and held in my hands. Some General conclusions:
First of all, the advantages of a razor:
1. The quality of the instrument.
Made very high quality
High level of polishing
2. Balance and handle.
Despite the weight of 170 grams, the machine has an excellent balance and a tenacious knurling on the handle and its length, allows you to lie perfectly in the grip.
3. Maneuverability.
The machine is very maneuverable and use in hard-to-reach places does not cause any difficulties.
4. Tactility.
The machine is very effective in everyday shaving.
The machine is omnivorous to blades. (These are my friend's impressions of the 2019 razor, which fully apply to the 2020 model)
Impressions:
1 This is the most effective razor I have. With any blade and almost all modes of operation (numbers) gives a clean shave (BBS).
2 Very "aggressive". I have the maximum values at which I can shave with any blades no higher than 2. But at the same time, both 1 and 0 effectively shaves.
3 Is similar in character to apollo micron, but even more aggressive and effective.
4 The quality of shaving is superior to the classic Cobra, which I considered the best.
5 It is Necessary to get used to the movements and angle of inclination when working with this razor. Similar to a micron and different from most conventional DE razors
6 Definitely today for me will be the standard of high-quality shaving.
7 Very sensitive adjustment. For example, 1 may be "aggressive

", but already 0.7-0.8-comfortable.

Rocnel Sailor porn incoming... all 3 variants under one roof.

2018, 2019, 2020 Prototype

The 2020 prototype is special. I hope the production model has the same characteristics. *fingers crossed*

Rocnels are truly gorgeous, enjoy! I’ve often wondered and thought I’d like to try one...

...even if 170 grams sounds like a lot for this shaver :scared:

you can compare Rocnel adjustable razors 18, 19 and 20?

Sure thing. For me, the 18 and 19 have the same face feel. Opened up they are very blade forward and they feel like it. The blade feel is akin to a 2011 R41 or an iKon Tech. I would call them aggressive, for sure. They force concentration.

The 2020 is much smoother and even opened up to 100% does not feel aggressive or threatening in any manner. It's not quite mindless but it is a very good shaver.

Any of them on lower settings cut close and are remarkably smooth. I have a lot of Wolfman WR2s and the 2020 Sailor is equally as comfortable as any of them, with the ability to cut closer.

The only complaint on the 2020 is size and weight. Neither bother me, at all, but I get these characteristics are a turn-off to a lot of guys.

How does my analysis align with yours?

I only have a 2020 rocnel and I compared it to other adjustable razors. Now I will finish the comparison and write, but the first impression is that rocnel is the most effective for shaving, but not the most comfortable. I'm more comfortable with gibbs 17. This is the initial impression, I'm not complain to both razors yet. I have 9 adjustable razors in total, so this is a big study. Rocnel-somewhere in the top three and among modern razors, it has no competitors. I would really like the aggression values to be somewhat softer, and the adjustment is smoother. I have already 0,1-0,2 values strongly change the character of the razor. But I can say unequivocally-if you choose the appropriate values for you-the pleasure is simply off the scale. And the weight is not a hindrance at all, it is a very maneuverable razor. And strict-does not forgive mistakes. With respect.

@loot - I don't agree on the 18 & 19 having the same feel.

I find the 19 goes from Medium to Very Aggressive. I've said this before that its not something that I reach for if I'm in a hurry.

The 18 on the other hand goes from Mild to Aggressive and is far less of a handful. It would have been very interesting if Murat had made the threads another 1 or 2 turns longer...

I don't have a 20 :mad3: (and he hasn't answered my emails)

@thisted - I agree that the 18 is really a great looking razor.

I just think that gap for gap through the 18 span, the 18 and 19 feel quite similar. Blade forward. Present and in charge. No question where it is or what it's doing. You don't have to search for an edge. The 19, to me, is pretty much an 18 with headroom. The more you open it, the more pronounced the blade becomes, so yes, much more of a handful in the top half of gap range. We agree there, no doubt. The 2020 is a different animal, much more comfortable even in the upper range. Same family, different behavior.

I've not used a Gibbs so can't comment on those. I've read they are very smooth and quite efficient, I just never took a liking to the looks of them. I think @Clouds is a big fan of them.

Your 2020 adjustment knob is not smooth?

So far, I only have first impressions, so I can be wrong. In my opinion, rocnel feels much closer to apollo micron-efficient and aggressive. Gibbs-less effective, but soft. For example, the value of 2 and the Astra green razor-on gibbs is ideal, on micron and rocnel-you want to reduce. But once again, I will sum up my impressions now, comparing different blades and different modes. I still have 2 razors not come, which I consider it necessary to compare-toggle and fatboy.
