Rocky Mountain Soap Company

Hey guys...my name is Kevin,,,and I have a shaving addiction
First post, thanks for all the info on the forum, has really helped in my first month of DE shaving.
Like many, at first it was to save money on those crazy priced Fusion blades..$40 for 8 carts, I just couldn't do it anymore.
What I wasn't expecting was this obsession that has developed for shaving products....I don't think I'm spending less on shaving, but I sure am getting a lot more quality goods for my dollars.
The other day I actually found myself in a natural soap store in the mall, asking for shaving soap.
To my surprise they had a shaving soap, locally made and all natural...so I bought a chunk. (I actually bought a couple of different soaps for my wife and myself)

Made by a local company in Canmore Alberta, Rocky Mountain Soap Company...I like the "Do Not Eat" bags :001_smile
Other than buying some soap there, I'm not affiliated with them at all

Heres the ingredient list....

I'm going to shred the block into a glass bowl and compress it, a first for me
Although I'm no expert, I will report my findings

Thanks again for all the interesting and educational information you have provided on this great forum.
I still find it a bit hard to believe that I actually really enjoy spending 20 minutes shaving...it used to be just a get-it-over-with chore

Cheers
Kevin

Rocky Mountain makes a lot of great products, however, the shave bar is not one of them.

Hi Neighbor...well if it doesnt work too well for me, I'll try mixing it with different soaps and cremes, maybe some concoction will work out...part of the fun :001_smile
As far as blades go...just going through some drug store varieties...will have to make an on line order someday...probably sooner than later

This place is located in Polo Park mall here in Winnipeg, across from Jersey City on the main floor....for my fellow 'Peggers.

I was planning to stop in there and take a look around last week but never got around to it. I hope the shave bar works and welcome to the forum!

Welcome to B&B, Kevin. Let us know how the soap works out for you. If this one doesn't work out, there are several vendors here that make excellent shaving soaps that are worth trying.

Welcome fellow Canadian!
You are actually very close to me, I live in Calgary.
I love rocky mountain soap but haven't used there shaving soap. Let me know how it goes, there regular bathsoap I love tho

Welcome to the board.

The present of Olive Oil in the formulation of this product will likely mean that it won't produce an acceptable quality lather, no matter how hard you try.

Thanx for the warm welcome guys, appreciate it. Nova316, I actually live in Carstairs, work mostly in Calgary and bought the soap at the West Edmonton Mall :)

I bought 4 of these bars a little over a year ago, and the lather immediately collapses. I wanted to support a Canadian soap shop, but was ultimately disappointed. It's soap, but it's not shaving soap.
