Rocket Question

Picked up an English Rocket today and cleaned it up.
Noticed on the back, to the left of the handle is the number "11"
Does anyone know what that might signify?

Phil, that doesn't look like it was put in by the factory. If someone else has one with a number they can speak up. Mine does not.

The "II" on the Rocket means it is the regular aggressiveness just like a regular Super Speed. Rockets with a single "I" mean a milder shave and correspond to the Blue Tip, while the "III" means more aggressive and relates to a Red Tip.

Of course, this pertains to the flare tips. I'm not sure on the 40's style Rockets.

Just have a look at the TTO knob when the doors are open.
If the knob is thicker than the handle it's Rocket, otherwise a Parat.

I don't think Gillette started doing this until the mid/late 50's, and the Rocket had been replaced by the HD Rocket by that time, but strangely, neither of my HD Rockets have the Roman numerals on them.

Here is what I have that does have the numbers (L-R: Flare Tip, "TV", and Parat). As you can see, they were kind of indiscriminate as to which side the number was stamped. I imagine a "I" would be the Blue Tip, and a "III" the Red Tip.

Mine is exactly like yours on the right. What differentiates a Rocket from a Parat? Mine as well as those on Mr. Razor show no significant indicators, including TTO knob size.
I'll assume based on info received that it is a Rocket, and it's the "regular". If anyone has info as to distinguishing marks between Parat and Rocket, please let me know. I'll let you know how it shaves when it goes into rotation.

Your razor appears to be a Parat. As I said, the "II" showed up in the mid/late 50's, and did not appear on the late 40's Rocket. i have a gilette parat 694093 code and II sign made in England.. Now i found a gillete razor it must be parat but doors shining like as rodium plated and weight is 63.7 g.
also i has no II sign and 694093 code. it writes patent pending inside and made in England.. do you know this razor production year and plating type..
btw i read mtgrayling guide but i did not find matching these razors with my razor.. im waiting help in this razor...

No, the german Parat has no "Made in ..." under the head. I believe the "II" is for the weight: Blue Tip "I", Flare Tip "II", Red Tip "III"

I have nothing to add with regards to the technical specs of the razor, but would like to say it is a damn fine looking piece of hardware. Is that the way you received it, or did you have to do a little shining up? I mean other than the obligatory "new acquisition shining" we all do when we get a new razor.
