Lamont Dozier, a third of the songwriting team of Holland-Dozier-Holland passed away on August 8, 2022 at the age of 81.

As part of the team he wrote numerous songs, many of which are well known Motown staples.

"Band of Gold" for Freda Payne

"Heat Wave" for Martha and the Vandellas
"How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)" for James Taylor
"I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)", "It's the Same Old Song", and "Baby I Need Your Loving" for The Four Tops
"Jimmy Mack", and "Nowhere to Run" for Martha and the Vandellas

Let's not forget "Nowhere to Run" by the Vandellas. I just so happened to watch a movie with a cover of that one, so it was on my mind.
