Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia back to back. Excellent director.
Something Wild's first half was goofily sweet (even with the handcuffs), but as soon as some guy named Ray Liotta shows up the movie took a sudden 180 into thriller-ville. Great movie.
Oh, and Silence of the Lambs was pretty good, too.

He was a master of the craft of suspense through subtlety. The newer generation would be smart to study his work in film.
Other than being of the great directors of today he was intelligent and kind. Rest In Peace Jonathan Demme.
Such a great filmmaker. Loved many of his films. Such interesting and varied choices over his career. RIP
