The genius who brought Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch to life has passed on. I feel the same way Big Bird did after we lost Mr. Hooper.

A truly lovely scene. The whole cast was a huge part of my childhood. The show actually premiered on my fourth birthday. I remember well seeing this original cast live in Golden Gate Park in SF as a child when the show was only a year or two old. RIP Caroll Spinney.
