Rinse after witch hazel?

Just wondering, as I have a bottle of Thayer's on its way in the hope of reducing the stubborn last few ingrown hairs on my neck...

Do you rinse the WH off after it's dry, like with the alum block? Or is it like an AS/ASB where you splash it on and leave it?

My process is as follows:
1. Shave
2. Rinse w/ cold water.
3. Apply Alum Block, let dry, rinse, pat dry.
4. Apply Thayer's. Leave, don't rinse.
5. Apply AS/ASB.

Unlike the alum block, the Thayer's will absorb into your skin pretty quick. A very small amount on a cotton ball will do ya, drying shouldn't be necessary unless you oversoak the cotton.

I splash on witch hazel after my shave

I don't rinse it off with water, but rather let it dry on my skin.

I then put on my after shave balm.

viola.

Now half as wise
I used to just pour it into my palm then splash it on. After using a bottle of Razorock 888, I found that I really like the spray so now use that bottle to spray on the WH and like it even better. Let it dry then usually apply whatever my AS of the day is, though you could do just as well with the WH, and many do just that.

That's what I do, too, although sometimes I skip step 5. I never rinse after applying witch hazel.

I don't rinse. Speaking of flavors...I bought a new bottle today in a hurry and grabbed lilac. I not really a lilac kind of guy. It smells a little to fru-fru for me. But I am on my way out of town and won't be back until July...so fru-fru I be.

Don't rinse off!! I love thayers. I use as AS then sometimes apply AS splash (depending on time of day, etc.). I use scented WH (superhazel or lavander) so it holds a scent for a while anyways.

I love the cucumber Thayers in the warmer months. The scent dissipates quickly and then the AS goes on (WM. Nuemann's 1911). Incidently I was travelling last week and grabbed a bottle of the "regular" witch hazel for less than 2 bucks. It smelled foul and really dried my face up. The Thayer's is more but worth every penny. You can get it on sale at GNC pretty reasonably too.
