I've been working the slide on the Colt, slingshot, for a few days and it is easier. Working good now. Dang the edges of that Bomar low mount rear sight are sharp.
Dunno if it's the spring that is getting better or my muscles, but it's working.
Yes, I know...it would be easier to set the spring in by firing it, but I think this is the way to go for now. I'll do it manually for awhile. I still have ammo left.
I think it's a bit better to be able to work the slide to clear any malfunctions that may happen than to worry about more battering to the frame and a bit more recoil with the lighter spring.
Live fire will be in a few days.
