So, like a lot of you I have a few razors. I tend to get into rhythms with a couple a razors and use them exclusively for a period. When I started out my second razor was a Slim. Being a head shaver I liked its ability to get the thick hair on the back of my head dialed up, but still be able to dial it down for my neck. Since getting the Futur and a few others my Slims have sat in the razor drawer, I have even sold a couple off. For the past few weeks I have been using a Fatip and a Milord(Fatip for 24 hour growth and the Milord for 12 hour quick shaves).
Well Last night I pulled out a Slim, stuck in an Astra Stainless, and had a great shave. I had forgotten in my quest that the next razor will be the best, how good the Slim was. The icing on the cake was that this morning when I shaved for an early meeting I bumped it down to 5, and had a nice quick face shave that left me feeling smooth. No need to have a second razor on the counter.
It got me to think about the Gillette adjustable offerings. I'm not wild on the handle for the Fatboy, and for some reason I don't remember the Super Adjustable being as good in the thick hair on the back of my head. Could the Slim be the best of Gillette's adjustables?
Anybody else come back to a razor that surprises you by doing a better job than you remember?
