Rescale on the Wade & Butcher

Time for another round of the emperors new clothes.

Got this Wade about a week and a half ago, honed it up, and it shaved nice. Only problem was that the razor pivot was loose as anything. Since I had an extra pair of scales around (made these originally for my Wostenholm, but made them too short...... Lemonade time), I put the Wade in them. Original scales were a bit manky but not too bad, just loose on the pivot. too bad one broke taking the blade out... Awww Crap

once again, the Kirinite is Black MOP, and once again, it wasn't much to look at when purchased. I had to thin it down, and that's when the character came out. SCORE!!!

Note to others, if you are making a set of scales using a busted up set as a pattern, make sure you mark the hole positions accurately, or make sure you have another blade that can use the scales.

Nice job! The material is really nice!
The washers seem a bit on the large side, I prefer a bit smaller (or stacked), but otherwise smooth job. :)

ok, I decided to go a different direction with this blade. I agreed with Pmaster and the pinning looked like crap. so I pulled the blade out, and gave it a week in the vibratory polisher (after a bit of touch up with some 600 grit paper). It is now looking much nicer than before, not a mirror polish but a nicely polished satiny finish. Redid the pins with brass and stainless in a much smaller washer size this time.

here she is after the latest round of alterations....
