I have seen many posts about replating. It looks amazing when done well. I was wondering what a ballpark range for it would be. I was also wondering if there is a danger in losing the details, like the Gillette stamped into the top of my Tech. I have a couple of razors that I would love to have replated, but I am just not sure about it all.

You lose details if there is any buffing that needs to be done, like getting out some pitting. If it's just strip and replate, my experience is that it's been fine. But if there is any pitting and they don't buff them out, you will retain the pits - wonderfully replated of course.

I've only replated on razor. The cost varies with the work done.

I understand prices may vary. is there any way you can tell me what razor you got replated, how much it was, and who did it for you?
