Replace 'stale' Montblanc brown ink

Monday (6 Feb 23) morning, I refilled my 13-year old Mont Blanc skywriter pen from my 9+ year old bottle Mont Blanc brown ink. The pen wouldn't put down a decent line on any paper. The ink, and it had become thicker than cough syrup. I spent 10 to 15 minutes cleaning the old ink out my nib, and after market converter.

I found a replacement bottle of black ink at a local Michael's art and craft store for $6.88 (USD).

My skywriter is now working as good as new!

Good result, it is great when old pens make a recovery with just a little effort.

I cannot see the image on this old cronk of an iPad but just for the sake of others it is essential when buying ink from art and craft stores to make sure that you do not buy India ink or ink for drawing, I know of someone who even used ink for stamp pads in their fountain pen. The damage you would do could be terminal.

Eta, spellcheck insisted on changing cronk to Cronkite!
