Made my first purchases for SE shaving today.
$3.50 GEM 1912 excellent condition cleaned up beautifully.
AND
$6.50 Ever Ready 1912 fair condition but cleaned up pretty good.
The hinge needs sum lubricating what do i use how Do I apply it?
There is some plating loss in areas nothing to do about that some rust on upper right inside where blade would sit.
Any suggestions how to get rid of the rust?

1912s are simple razors without a lot of movable parts. I boiled mine in baking soda water for abot 15-30 minutes, and it got rid of any corrosion or rust. Most razors it is NOT a good idea to do that with but should be fine for these. And if the ER is brass like mine is, make sure to coat it with mineral oil for lubrication an protection til you can use some brass polish on it.
