Red Injun Trouble

Hey guys. I have been having problems with my Red Injun. Last shave pulled too much so I knew something was up. I inspected the edge with a loupe and found out there are micropits on the blade face. Enough that it is causing the edge to crumble during honing.

They should be no problem to get out. I was thinking of starting with maybe a 220 and working to 2k from there. I can't get any pictures, as I have no type of close up picture taker thingy.

Does 220 sound like a good starting point for this? Or should I drop a grit or two?

Thanks!

Well they are not "micro" Chips, they are "micro" Pits. I will start with the 1K and see where to go from there.

Try the 1k and after 100 laps you still haven't made much progress, bump down to a 600 grit diamond hone like a DMT or one of the cheapies from Harbor Freight.
