I REALLY want one. But I don't want to pay $100+ for one. I'm really hoping I can find one someday in an antique store for less than $50.

Join the club - I think that we all hope for that. But, it's not a zero-sum game, so best of luck to you.

A 'Red Dot' Toggle for $357.00 on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=110942861294), got me wondering about the mechanics of the "5" adjustment vs. the "9" adjustment. Each one has nine different settings, so mechanically they must be the same. Or are there different degrees of gap?
Thanks,
David.

The 1-5 model is mainly a collectors item but to increase the gap the blade is adjusted upward while the 1-9 model lowers the safety bars. There are other mechanical differences. This thread is from a time not that long ago when we thought the 1-5 model was a prototype.

Thank you Tom, you've garnered a lot of info. I still need to do a second reading but it is clear there quite a few differences. I wonder why and how it came to be?
Best wishes,
David.
