Red Bumps while shaving

Hello all. Been wet shaving for a long time. My skin has been freaking out a bit lately. Been getting red bumps, especially on my upper lip while shaving. I don't shave ATG so I don't think it's ingrown hairs. I guess just razor burn? My skin has been dry lately as well. Maybe my skin just needs a little more TLC? My prep usually just includes washing my face before hand. I usually use some sort of preshave as well. Any tips/advice appreciated!

I use the hot washcloth prep (soften and hydrate the stubble), and various post-shave products (Nivea Balm, 2-Phase Lotion or Hyaluronic Acid) to mitigate any damage I might have done, and I'm currently doing OK. So far, so good.

On the other hand, I had a load of skin trouble in 2018, so I don't think any of us have the tiller, just steering with the oars.

I agree it’s looking at what has changed in you life. It could be shaving items or something else. Has your diet changed? Your hydration? Laundry products? Has your water company changed what’s in the water? All these, and more can cause issues for some folks.
+1- if anything changed shave wise first consider that, and then look to see if anything else changed? Changes in sun exposure, medications, hormones, or even emotions may physically affect us, too. If nothing significant has changed and the condition persists, I'd ask your GP at your next visit.

+1! Good advice!
