Recycled goods for wet shaving

Sometimes, for the greater good, we need to recycle some goods to help us with wet shaving.

I thought I saw a thread on it before but can't find it.

What comes to mind?

An artist pouch to carry paint brushes for my straights:

A CD rack for straights:
mdunn, can't find the picture anymore but it was a great idea!

A pipe rack for DEs:

A test tube rack:

The blade bank from a tin of soup:

What else do you use that doesn't need any or much modifications to fit the purpose?

Great idea for a thread Luc!
I'll keep this one on the front burner for sure.

I have a friend who uses a plain piggy bank as a blade bank, he got it at a dollar store for less than a dollar (go figure).
I'm sure any coin type bank would work.

I was always told by my granfather that old ships were cutup and tuned into Razor Blades! LOL

Cool to think I might possibly be shaving with old trawlers and the like.

In the case of a Parker or a Weishi, I think they were made from a Destroyer!!

Love the artist pouch for straights and would love to see the CD Rack idea - I can't picture this.

My blade bank is an old coffee tin. I think that it will be (at most) half full when I no longer need to shave :biggrin1:

We have seen pics here of razor and brush stands made from wire coathangers and there was a thread the other day from someone who was going to convert the head of a garden rake into a razor rack.

I've made a razor rack using an old ammunition holster.... have now lined the slots with plastic tubing which isn't visible, but will help protect against corrosion. I really must take new photos sometime now my razor collection is a bit larger....

I like this as well!

I just picked up an old dart board for $10. The cupboard style with the closing doors.

So I took out the dartboard itself and will recycle the case into a holder for straights and brushes.

Just need to pick up a couple of small pieces of trim wood from Home depot to finish it off.

That's so cool!

I use a large size plastic herb bottle (parsley), that I've drilled holes in, to hold my brush while traveling. Before this, I used the empty toilet paper tube. Also, along the lines of the pipe stand and test tube rack, the former toothbrush holder.

+1
I did that with a Cinnamon jar for my old Tweezerman, works great!

Aren't those of us who use Gillette DE's recycling the razors, which might otherwise end up in land fills and possibly endanger the denizens of said landfill? :biggrin1:

Some awesome ideas in here... I have an old gun case that my FIL gifted to me, which I may use to store my DE's and brushes, just got to work out how i'm going to go about it!

And I almost forgot, I use an old hard side glasses case to protect my razor (with blade installed) while traveling. I fitted foam from a pen/pencil gift case to hold the razor in place, along with a plastic razor box.

I use these to decant aftershaves that come in plastic bottles.

I use a fruit juice can as a blade bank and a soup mug I bought at the Salvos store for my shaving mug.
