Recommendation for synthetic travel brush?

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a recommendation for a good travel brush. I've come to prefer synthetic brushes, and I think they're well suited for travel (just considering drying times).

I currently have a Muhle (medium-sized, not sure which one exactly), which I enjoy very much.

So what should I look for? Another Muhle? The special travel brush or a normal one plus a Simpson tube or something? Or something entirely different?

Thanks!

I think a nice synthetic makes shaving so much easier on the road. I have several but choose to use the Simpson Chubby. Why not?

Thanks for your replies.
Yes, a synthetic would be the way to go. I forgot to mention that I have a small screw-lid soap box/can with about 3" diameter, so to get some lather going in that small space the brush can't be too large. Looks like the Trafalgar T1 is a good choice, just need to find a place to buy a tube to go with it.

The Simpson Trafalgar T1 would be my #1 choice for travel. My Trafalgar T2 serves the same role, but it's bigger since I'm a head shaver.

For storage, use an old pill bottle. Or you can take your brush to the local pharmacy and ask for a bottle to hold it.
Make sure the brush is dry before you put it in the bottle, to prevent mold. Stick one of those desiccant (silica) packets in the pill bottle with the brush.
Label the bottle to tell you which brush is inside.

My favorite travel brush (I even use it for non travel shaves often) is the 24mm Yaqi Sagrada Familia. Nice and soft, perfect lathers every time, holds enough for 4-5 passes, and dries quickly. Fits easily in my dopp bag.

Usually not possible. As with any traveler, you shave in the morning and then pack your bag and head out, to work or to catch your flight or whatever. So it usually stays wet during the day until I get home but gets dry then, so I have not had an issue with mold yet.

All good suggestions! I just got a Simpson Trafalger T3 that I’ll be using on an upcoming trip. The performance is fantastic, and it seems to dry pretty quickly. I don’t worry if I have to put it in my travel bag pocket a little damp. I just air it out upon arrival. It won’t rot, and even if it gets ruined (unlikely), it’s not expensive to replace. I previously used 21mm and 23mm Muhle synthetics, but lately I’ve found them dissatisfying (too small).

You don't really need a tube. If you have a microfiber cloth, just roll the brush up in that, bind with a rubber band on top and bottom. The brush will be protected and it can dry out some.

I have a Simpsons Trafalgar T1 as a travel brush and I always enjoy using it. For storage I recommend buying the brush from Simpsons as they also sell travel tubes that fit their brushes nicely and are reasonably priced. For the Trafalgar T1 you will need the small travel tube. Alternatively I believe that Geofatboy sells Simpsons travel tubes & brushes on Shavenation.com

Sorry, I don't know the dimensions of the Sampsons T1 Trafalgar. However, I use an aluminium "airtight aluminium container" found on Aliexpress for very little money. It's 120mm in length and comfortably takes my Yaqi brush which I take travelling.

Also, I use one of the smaller tubes, and squash/shape an Arko stick down into the lid to make an ideal soap container. Had this one for a while now.

There are plenty of sellers and an example of the tubes is here £1.81 2%OFF | Airtight Smell Proof Aluminum Stash Jar Tobacco Box Metal Herb Storage Container Pill Box 2.47US $ 1% OFF|Airtight Smell Proof Aluminum Stash Jar Tobacco Box Metal Herb Storage Container Pill Box|Cigarette Accessories| - AliExpress - https://a.aliexpress.com/_vsWi3v
