Recommend me a Cream

I've been using AOS Sandalwood and my tub is about to run out. Its a great cream, but I want to try something different. Suggestions?

I see that you have Grafton in your signature, so why not try the cream? It smells amazing, and gives a nice shave as well. Proraso can be picked up inexpensively at your local drugstore for a nice face freeze for hot summer days.

AOS Sandalwood is one of the best smelling creams out there so it will hard to beat it scent wise, however Grafton smells just as good (very manly). Why not try the AOS lavender or lemon cream, I hear they are nice for spring/summer.

Can you be a little more specific?

Ditto. It might help if you were to do a little homework first, then ask questions about specific creams you're considering. There are a number of "recommend a cream" threads around, which will give you some ideas. Or just go to the review section and check out the reviews. Surely you will find something that sparks your interest.

Top Secret, from Confiança, available at vintagescent.com. It's fairly cheap and produces great lather, with a nice scent. It contains lanolin. Try it and you won't regret it :biggrin1:

I'm a big fan of JM Fraser's shaving creams. The performance is excellent, the scents are good, and the price is tough to beat. I'd highly recommend a Fraser cream.

I've tried to get my hands on some JM Fraser cream. The only place that I could find that would post to Australia was a place called Feridans (or something like that) and they wanted $35 postage for $23 worth of cream.

You know, that just ain't right.

As far as creams go and never standing on not having enough information to not offer my advice, I will say I've taken a liking to the mentholated creams - C. O. Bigelow is nice I think. In fact, I usually take the leftover and lather my face again after shaving. Cool.

And GFT creams also seem very nice. They maybe pricey, but it doesn't take much.

I would like to try those also, I have the Iced Lime AS and I do like it. I shave at night and it's a scent that doesn't last long at all - perfect for sleeping.

Which one is your favorite JM Fraser cream, scent-wise? I should try one not mentholated since I have the Bigelow.

i like a cream that lathers really well and has a good scent. So what fits that description?

I think C. Salter's creams are great, excellent lather and nice scents. I have the Vetiver (I like Vetiver!!) and the Indian Sandalwood, and also have tried the Rose cream. Can recommend all three of them.
