Recommend Boar for Creams

I currently use a Vulfix 2233. It's soft with backbone, it works great on soaps, and I like the small size for face lathering. However, it takes longer than I'd like for lathering creams in a bowl (I suspect this is due to it's smaller size). I only have KMF Lime at the moment, but with Speick in the mail, I'm looking for a more specialized brush.

Does anyone use boar brushes with their shaving cream and have one you'd recommend? Should I just buy a bigger one?

My boars have no trouble with creams, just a bit longer than the badgers. Any larger Omega would do and the Pro Series are really good deals.

I own 1 vulfix boar and 3 Omega Boars and none of them work well with the creams I use but the Boars tear up the soap. Boars to me are for soaps and badgers for creams. West Coast Shaving have great Shavemacs at can't beat prices, I would invest in one and leave your boar for the soap. With your Shavemac and cream you'll see a big difference in lathering.:001_smile

I have a Men-U bristle and it's great with soaps or creams.

It won't make much difference but if you go bigger it will require using more cream and actually will take longer to lather if you don't. I never understood bigger brushes, anyway, I prefer my badger for creams, it takes less time to soak and whips lather much faster
