Barbasol FH, or how about a DEvette?
I'm learning to like razors that clamp the blade out toward the edge, more than alot other razors that don't do that as well. Mostly where I can tell it is in the ATG situation. As a member of the BOSC, I take that as a compliment, thank you.
I use shims to make the blade more rigid (in my iKon Tek, R41, and others which have a large clamp distance [like your DE89 for example]). This is due to having coarse whiskers, which encourage blade chatter and bending in those sorts of razors. Fortunate people with average to fine whiskers don't usually suffer from these problems.
Vive la différence!
Thanks Doc , now I'm checking into Gillette single ring, are they difficult to come by? How about the price?Gillette Single ring, Old type for vintage. Charcoal Goods level 3 for modern.
I bought my single ring on the BST, it was revamped by a gentleman who unfortunately has passed, Cooncat Bob.Thanks Doc , now I'm checking into Gillette single ring, are they difficult to come by? How about the price?

I've go some tough whiskers, so I'm in the same situation as you more or less of to some degree I'm sure.
Oh alright. It's nice that you got a razor from Cooncat Bob.I bought my single ring on the BST, it was revamped by a gentleman who unfortunately has passed, Cooncat Bob.
+2! The R41 should fit the bill!!
If not, then you should consider a straight.
I'm surprised that nobody has suggested a slant. They are not as aggressive as an R-41, but more so than, say a Merkur 34-C or Edwin Jagger DE-89.
The Merkur company offers an affordable candidate: Merkur 37-C slant razor
