Really satisfying

I know many of us like to shave as frequently as our skin and facial/neck hairs will permit. I just shaved off a week and a half's worth of growth with my trusty ole frameback wedge Wostenholm. Trumpers sandalwood shaving soap and my Simpson PJ2 were the partners in crime.

The experience was sort of like being really dehydrated and that first sip of water is the best-tasting food you've ever had.

So, job/SWMBO permitting, consider, sometime, depriving yourself and growing it out for a week or two and then enjoying some truly satisfying weed wacking.

Cheers,

Ben

Sounds like the first shave was right! Nice!

I've done that once, although it was against my will.

When I was still learning how to shave, about six months ago, with DE razors, I had an outbreak of pimples on my face. The parents forbad me to shave, lest the razor irritate the skin and cause the pimples not to heal properly. I didn't touch a razor for two weeks. Literally.

At the end of two weeks, when the pimples were gone, that first shave was...amazing! So smooth and relaxing.

I have not yet repeated the same event with a straight razor.

Congrats Ben and I agree...I once let my beard go two full weeks...mowing it down was bigtime fun with the str8s!

I love straight shaving so much its hard to skip 1 shave let alone a whole week and a half!

I don't think I've skipped a day in 4-5 weeks even though a 2 day old beard is so much better to shave.

I had one of my first tiny nicks in a long time yesterday. Shaving today only seemed to make it even angrier with me, so I have resolved not to shave again until Friday to give the cut time to heal.

Truth be told, I don't even know how I got the cut, because I don't remember cutting myself, but the red on the blade kinda convinced me to stop for a few days.
