Re-use Excess Lather?

Gents, I have a question...

I'm relatively new to MWF, and I have no problem getting a good lather going. But when I'm done, there is so much lather still left in the brush.

What I do is I gently squeeze the excess lather back into my MWF container and store it. When I go back to it, wether its the next day or later in the week, there is this nice cushion of dried out old suds that actually makes lathering it up again a little bit easier.

Is this silly and/or a bad thing to do? Should I just wash the excess lather down the drain? If this is a good idea for MWF, is it good for other hard soaps too? (got some Mikes lime on the way)

I prefer to wash my face with the remaining lather, I just brush it on, wipe off and rinse my face. I suppose you could "re-use" lather for the next shave but I don't see any advantage in it.

I guess you can save the old lather....but I'd rather wash my face with it. I understand the wanting to conserve mindset. I get that. But I think you'll find a lot of this stuff lasts forever anyway

What I started doing with my left-over lather is reapply it, and let it sit on my face while I clean up after my shave: rinse the brush, rinse the razor, hang up the washcloth, etc. I imagine this would work much better with MWF than it does with even my glycerin and tallow soaps. Like Nick said, with a moderate rotation and MWF being a hard soap, this stuff will last forever. And I, too, like a neat puck. :thumbup1:

Topping off SWMBO's morning coffee always makes for an interesting start to the day :biggrin1:

It would depend on what you are topping her coffee off with. I would not suggest topping it with any shave soap/cream; creamer and sugar or flavored mix such as the Coffee Mate bottles would work much better and she may just grab you by the tie and lead you to the bedroom for a little good morning wake-up call for doing it (involving Cialis and handcuffs of course).:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I also usually just squeeze and rinse the excess down the drain, way too much product to work through to justify re-using it haha. Although, I think I might try using it to wash the rest of my face as others have mentioned...

I put my index finger to my thumb at the knot, and slide it up, wringing most of the latter out of the brush for the final (third) pass with my razor. Uberlatter.

I wash my hands and face with the remaining lather. Quality shaving soaps like MWF have lanolin and other goodies in them that can be moisturizing.
