Anyone ever try these at home nickel plating kits I have seen avail on the net for sale? It seems razors are small enough that if they do a good job it would be practical as they are certainly inexpensive enough. Much like many things when it comes to restoration or processes like this I would imagine the prep is 90% of the job.

I tried it and it did not work for me. I know another member tried it and had some success.
You may want to talk to onotoman/RestoredRazors or Krona Kruiser, as they do a lot of replates. I suspect they know far more about this than I do.
When I first starting playing with these double edge razors I seriously looked at getting a DIY kit. I shopped around the web, looked at reviews, creeped on forums and watched youtube videos until the craving to do so had passed. Looking back I'm glad I never went through with the purchase. My goal at the time was to buy a bunch of decent razors, plate them and flip them. I soon figured out that I didn't care enough and it was worth my time as many new buyers were in the market doing almost the same. This is just my opinion but I would just pay someone with experience to do it, plus if something goes wrong its on them and you're not out.
Kronas rate is about 30 plus/minus 5 not bad and u get discounts for doing multiple... And also that covers return shipping... I have 6 out to him right now

Geez at that price it truly is a why bother. Even though I enjoy restoring various items for as often as I would replate its worth it just to send it out. Thanks Guys!
How do i contact someone to replate my gillette adjustable.
Message either Krona Kruiser (nickel, chrome) or onotoman (RestoerdRazors in England, does nickel/chrome/black chrome/gold/rose gold/rhodium). Above The Tie is also supposed to do a very good job, and most (not all) of the reviews I've read on Reliable Electroplating are very good.
Feel free to look up my replating thread on my gold/rose gold razors that onotoman replated for me. Way cool.
There is 1 replating vendor I would not touch with a ten foot cattle prod with insulated gloves, rubber boots, and a Navy SEAL team with full support backing me up. Hint - they sell people's prized heirlooms. Before picking someone else, check for reviews on this website or others.
