Re-applying AS balm after excess sweating ?

I know this is probably a stupid question but today after my shave I applied my balm, and could not stop sweating. I believe this was due to being hot from showering but it was pretty excessive sweating. Should I re-apply more balm or not worry about it ? Sorry to ask dumb questions but I am a newb !

Thanks, Marc

Thanks guys, I hate to ask all the questions just a newb trying to get things figured out ! I have been considering a splash would be good right after then cool off and use a balm. I have sensitive skin but maybe I should just try the splash and see ?!

Thanks, Marc

I always use a cold water rinse, spritz of witch hazel, splash of aftershave lotion, and then an aftershave balm. I usually wait a couple minutes between each application. It may be overkill.... but it works for me. I'd recommend a splash or witch hazel if you have oily skin..... and if you sweat a lot after your post shave routine, re-apply some splash or witch hazel.... or even just toss some cold water on your face and let it air dry. If you still have some irritation or burn after it dries, re apply some balm. If you don't have any irritation, but need some moisturization, apply a regular facial moisturizer.

Thanks for the input everyone, I've been doing a WWR followed by a CWR then clean up then balm. Maybe I should do my warm and cold water rinse and then cool off before any aftershave routine !? Anyone use alum ?

I only use alum if I get a weeper. I don't find it helpful as an antiperspirant, but ymmv.
I agree that maybe your showers are too hot. I sometimes sweat after my shower, but only on very hot days.

Yea il try try cooling showers down a bit I'm sure that's part of it, I actually just placed an order from shoebox. I got some alum and witch hazel, and a few other things so will experiment with both of them in my AS routine.
