Razors with 89 in product title

I've recently noticed that a few manufacturers of razors have the no. 89 in the product title. Eg Edwin Jagger DE89, Mühle R89, does this mean they use the same head? Only the handle is different?

Yes, the razors you mention now have the same head. The choice of model number may be a coincidence, though.

There is still the old Mühle R-89 available at some places; a very aggressive open comb razor with a totally different head.
