Nice to hear. How would you compare it to vintage gillettes as far as aggressiveness? I have a razorock open comb and it is definitely more aggressive than I was expecting, but a great shaver anyway. I am considering picking up a tto or solid bar after the sabbatical is over.

I picked up this same razor. Upon opening I was very impressed, I think it's an amazing looking and feeling razor. But I am having trouble with it. I use the Astra SP blades and every time I use this razor I get weepers, nicks and irritation somewhere. Most often irritation on the sides of my neck, but the nicks and weepers seem to appear in random spots. Upper lip, side of my mouth, chin, cheek different place each time. My only other razor and the one I have been using for 3 years before getting this is the Merkur 23c which I have no problems with. I can't figure if it's because I am not using a TTO properly or loading the blade correctly. But I really want to like this razor. I am a huge fan of Razorock and Italianbarber.com so I was really excited when these razors came out. I'll be quite disappointed if it turns out this razor isn't for me.

This is just like I used 40-50 years ago except now I understand how to shave. Just as good as my Gillettes were. I use tallow shave soaps, croaps so that nice big heavy head can use its weight- no pressure or --Penalty! Even did a nice scything stroke smoothly. With the Astra Plat it can do a little more exfoliation than expected (watch that angle). It handles nicely and the grip is superb. Imho , it's a honey for the money! There's a Gillete Super Slim adjustable coming to me so I guess I do a head to head . Thanks for stopping by!

I did get some neck irritation, but I think that was more of me and blade angle. I'll try the gilletes and crystals, etc and see which ultimately works best for me I also could have stopped at one pass but did two.wtg,xtg. Tomorrow I'll try one of those complimentary , Lord blades. Good shaving to ya'!

I just used the tto from RR as well and received some neck irritation where there shouldn't be any. Seems to be a more common theme with this. I did like the razor, but it's not match for my Progress.

My vintage Gillettes are an Aristocrat '47, and a '66 Slim Adj. No comparison and almost unfair, but it gives me a shave that would be a 6-7 setting on my Slim with a Bolzano or Crystal. I do recommend this shaver because it will give one a dfs.
