razorock soaps can someone describe the differences

ive used xxx before but not the artisan soaps. can someone describe the differences in them, like the 160, bee's knees, nervous wreck, di bologna, etc. i see what the listed frag is for each but thats not always what they really smell like. can you describe what each smells like to you? ive been wanting to try a couple but cant decide on which ones to try out. which are the better ones and do they all lather the same or are there differences between the artisans. thanks

I've used the Artisan soaps, such as Caprician Lemon. I really love the scent, the slickness.. the lather..the shave it gives me. However, this soap irritates my face so I stopped reaching for it. I'd go straight for the King Louis Lavender if I were you.

the artisan soaps are so inexpensive you could just get a couple because noone will be able to explain a scent fully to you in words. Caprician Lemon smells like lemon or maybe similar to Sprite.. but what you think of when you smell lemon will vary. If you cut a lemon in half, it won't smell like pledge furniture cleaner. I tell you dat much.

Besides RRxxx, I have Zi Peppino: a very muted but pleasant "green tobacco" scent, which provides a rich, slick, and moisturizing lather. I get a hint of burn from RRxxx--which I nonetheless really like--but not from Zi Peppino. It seems that all the "La Famiglia" (TFS-made) RR soaps have muted scents but perform very well, if my reading of the threads is correct.

Boston Tea Party smells EXACTLY like tinted Clearasil acne cream. I opened the container, sniffed it, and have never used it. The Caprician Lemon, however, is one of my favorite scents. It's like a tall glass of lemonade on a hot day - perfect for the upcoming summer months.

I use the Moroccan Secret often. It's an orange citrus with a bit of spice to it. Great scent. The lather is the same (or so RazorRock guys have said) amongst all the Artisan line soaps, just different scents used. The R-160 is sweet almond, I'm pretty sure, and the Caribbean Coconut is a very mellow/muted coconut.

These are the ones I have:

RR Cacao= mix of chocolate/almond

RR Zi' Peppino= green tobacco

RR Mudder Focker= baby powder

RR Fresco= light mint

S. Maria= eucalyptus no menthol

I really like the lather from Mudder Focker, Cacao, and S. Maria.

Don Marco...Bergamot

FWIW, I have yet to shave with it but I lathered it up...very nice and has a huge Bergamot nose.

I bought a tub of XXX (RazoRock) when it first came out...I loved the scent (heavy lime) but it burned me big time. I tried leaving the cap off the tub in an effort to out gas the offending ingredient, to no avail. Can't remember what I did with it but it's no longer in my den

Best,

Love xxx, but the other RR ones I've like are the King Louis Lavender and the Eucalyptus 888 - same ingredients, different scent. For me, those two are as good as it gets. Same great RR soap with some shea butter added. Nice.

Own and love King Louis Lavender, Caribbean Coconut and R160. KLL is perhaps the best. CC has a subtle and nice coconut fragrance, and I prefer R160 to Cella (but not to AK1869).
