RazoRock Lupo Club - The Pack

Wednesday Nine Day Double February 19
Blade - Single Use Feather🇯🇵
Razor - Lupo OC127 driven with a Chinese Dscosmetic Titanium Handle 🇨🇦 🇨🇳
Brush - Zenith Boar The Big One B35 X 31-57mm🇮🇹
Soap - Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica

I had been wondering when or if Italian Barber was going to bring out a Lupo OC127 base plate. They did and I immediately jumped on it. UPS delivered it this afternoon. I knew it was coming so I held off with my weekend shave and today was a nine day ATG Single Pass face and head shave. Wow wow wow the wolf has big teeth. Being very accustomed and used to the OC95 I was excited to see what the comparison would be. Most of the time with the OC95 I very seldom feel the blade. Not so much with the OC127. I not only could feel it all the time it felt twice as big. Of course it also required a softer touch with so much available blade. From my earliest days of DE shaving higher efficiency has always transmitted to higher comfort. This was the closest most comfortable shave this year. A few weeks ago I didn’t think I’d be able to top a great shave. No problem a wolf with big teeth easily topped that shave in closeness and skin comfort. There was a minimum of buffing required for both face and head. I also had to adjust my shave stroke. The buffing movements I had incorporated in my stroke are almost diminished. Back to a short quick triple stroke instead. A little buffing here and there, but drastically reduced. I also made slight adjustments on the handle grip. The blade and razor will always dictate those changes as they are very natural to fall into. Very happy with the improved performance the Lupo is delivering. Lathering was divine.

My next shave will be a ten day shave. March 1st. Fixed Four For March Madness shave. I’ll also be tuning up a new boar brush for the Fixed Four during March Madness. Looking forward to chasing the rabbit.

Evening, last night's shave:

Razor: Razorock .58 Lupo with Titanium Halo Handle
Blade: Supermax (1)
Pre: Hot Water
Soap: Stirling Island Man
Brush: Omega Boar Pro
Aftershave: Redones
Post: n/a

Such a great razor and works very well with this blade. The Stirling is a very solid soap, enjoy the scent, effortless to whip up enough lather for 3 passes.

Cheers

10/10

Hello friends

A hot and sunny day! Today, I resorted to the tradition of eau de cologne that dates back to Roman times. B&M Seville was fantastic with Semogue SOC Mistura. Lupo 95SB with RazorRock Vintage Thin Bar Handle has become a daily driver, today with the blade of the week Wilkinson Sword BR (3), very smooth. I finished with the delicious Ach. Brito Água de Colônia Antiga.

With us, Frank.

Saturday Ten Day Double March 1
Blade - Single Use Feather 🇯🇵
Razor - Lupo OC 127 driven with a Chinese Dscosmetic Titanium Handle 🇨🇦 🇨🇳
Brush - Boti White Haired Weng Boar Bristle Bule Knot 30mmx40mm set in a Boti acrylic handle 🇨🇳
Soap - Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica 🇮🇹

I always look forward to the FFFMM. Recently I started rotating boar brushes in my kit. The remaining three elements remain locked. Last month I’ve obtained an OC 127 base plate for the Lupo. Great timing this is the second shave on the Open Comb 127. I’ll have four more weekly Sunday shaves this month introducing it to the kit. It will be locked with my Feather blade and SV Felce Aromatica soap going forward. My transition from the OC 95 too the OC 127 was mostly seem-less. I had a light touch with the 95. The 127 requires a Super Ultra Light Touch. I had also adjusted my shave strokes where I’d incorporated a little buffing in the stroke. That’s been eliminated and I’m back to a short quick triple stroke. This afternoon’s face and head shave An ATG Single Pass was ultra close and ultra smooth. There is no substitute for efficiency. These last two shaves with the OC 127 are the closest ever in over half a century of shaves. The 127 has a massive blade feel to the strokes. No auto pilot no day dreaming no mistakes allowed. Carefully placed methodical strokes will reward you with an exquisite ultra close comfortable shave. I’m loving the Lupo with the big bite.

The Boti White Haired Weng Boar Bristle Bule Knot 30mmx40mm set in a Boti acrylic handle is more pig than boar. It is by far the stiffest brush I’ve used. Doesn’t compare to any other brush I’ve used. I have been methodically working on it to break it into an acceptable softness. For the last couple of months. Today’s first shave with it had me hand lathering the soap because of the stiffness. It literally inhales soap from the puck and it promptly disappears. The hand lathering did bring some useable lather to the tips. Tip lathering only. If I tried to splay this animal it surely would induce pain and discomfort. Four more shaves with it and I honestly don’t think I’ll be able to make a noticeable improvement with flexibility or softness. When a hair does split the tip soon breaks off. The hairs are extremely stiff. The lathering this month will be spare with little comfort or pleasure. I will continue to beat on the knot during the week between shaves. I’ve definitely met my match with this rogue boar. It will be on a back shelf when the month is over. I’ll hang in there for the month. More out of interest and curiosity than anything else.

Sunday Eight Day Double March 9

Blade - Single Use Feather 🇯🇵
Razor - Lupo OC 127 driven with a Chinese Dscosmetic Titanium Handle 🇨🇦 🇨🇳
Brush - Boti White Haired Weng Boar Bristle Bule Knot 30mmx40mm set in a Boti acrylic handle 🇨🇳
Soap - Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica 🇮🇹

The second of five shaves for FFFMM. I’ve whittled my fourth shave with the OC 127 from an eleven day interval to an eight day. Next week of course will be my first seven day shave interval. Glad I’ve eased into the transition from the OC 95 too OC 127 gradually. Increased efficiency has me very happy. Well still improving skin comfort. Due to fewer strokes to complete the face and head shave. My third efficient razor on my DE journey. Each jump in efficiency improved on shave strokes needed and increased skin comfort. My bold statement. Sharpest blades and highest efficient razors will deliver closest shaves and best skin comfort. It always equates down to shave strokes needed to complete a shave. The less blade contact to skin the higher the skin comfort. My journey has been over six years. Always improving in shave strokes and skin comfort. Not saying I’ve arrived by any means. There’s always more improvements to be had. Chasing the Elusive Perfect Shave.

Second week hand lathering because of the knots stiffness. Hand lathering is like a hybrid method half way between bowl and face lathering. Extra pressure is allowed with hand lathering which produces a creamier thicker lather. You also get very good hand connection to the knot. More so than with bowl or face lathering. The knot is gaining slightly more flexibility and a tad softer. I don’t expect it to be a keeper after three more shaves. A back shelf lurker after the FFFMM is completed.

Tonight’s shave exquisite. Excellent closeness and skin comfort. I’m very comfortable with the OC 127 Lupo.
The Lupo is very maneuverable, the handle I’m using perfectly balanced for me. Both face and head shave spare in strokes required for an ATG Single Pass. Minimal buffing and clean up strokes. Looking forward to next weeks seven day interval shave.

Evening headshave and face shave.

Preshave: Hot towel.
Lather: Palmolive green whipped up in Captain's Choice Heavy copper bowl with RazoRock Big Bruce synthetic brush.
Razor: Lupo 72
Blade: Personna blue wrapped med prep (first use)
Shave: Against the grain on skull and with the grain on chiseled face. Re-lather. Then across the grain on both the dome and the mug. Re-lather again. Cleanup pass. Hunt and scrape method.
Aftershave: Thayer's cucumber facial toner, two rubdowns. Then B&M Spice, one rubdown. Love that classic scent.
Result: Really super fine shave. No irritation or burn. Loving this result. The Lupo with the 72 plate is phenomenal. Whisker killer, skin saver. And a shout out to Palmolive Green. This was my first outing with this tube creme. Very pleasant scent and lather for days. Slick as glare ice and a menthol kick. Gotta score some more of this. Anything I like ends up getting discontinued. I used way too much and found out that a little goes a long ways. So hopefully this 100mg tube will go the distance.

New to the Lupo crew here, I acquired a 95OC that came in this week. Two shaves in, and the razor has been great. I'm a relatively new wet shaver, but quickly got obsessed with the gear and am now already 3 razors deep. This Lupo seems to to be the best of the bunch so far for me. Smooth and the best shave I have ever had this morning. I paired it with a Nacet blade, but will try others.
