Razorock classic TTO

I'm relatively new to DE shaving but I'd like to get my hands on a TTO. I've heard the doors on the Parker don't close as well, and I may get a Fatboy. BUT on italianbarber I just came across a Razorock TTO that has gotten good reviews and looks decent. Just wondering if any of you gents have an opinion to help me out.
Thanks in advance

While I have the utmost esteem for the Razorock brand and have been happy with every software item I have used from the line, I must say that their TTO razor falls short. My razor had brass spots under the doors where apparently the plating just never happened. I didn't care much for the shave either. The gaps were uneven and the shave was uncomfortable. My recommendation is to buy a classic Gillette, and then enjoy your shave with a fantastic RR cream or soap.As always, YMMV. Joe runs a great site, and I am a RR user often. This razor just doesn't make it for me.

I looked at these as well when I wanted a TTO DE razor. After some re-search I decided against it and picked up a nice Gillette 1959 SuperSpeed fare tip. It's an excellent beginer razor that is not aggressive. I still use it in my rotation, as some of the best shaves I've had were with it. I like that Superspeed so much that I picked up 2 more of them since.

So, I'll never be without a Gillette Superspeed:biggrin1:

I've got several Gillette TTOs, so I haven't been interested in the Razorock TTO, but I AM interested in the Little Bastone 3 piece open comb.

The Razorock TTO is fairly aggressive if I'm not mistaken. As others have said, your best bet would be a vintage Super Speed, or give the Schick Krona a try. Better yet, why not get both?

Feeling compelled to speak up for the defense as it were...I have the Razorock tto, and like it a great deal.

Full disclosure: it was my first razor, and truth be told, I haven't been doing this a long time. My other piece of kit is the EJ89.

Comparing the two, the Razorock gives better feedback while shaving, in my opinion. Paired with a red Personna, or another relatively mild blade, and it's amazing. I would say it's fairly aggressive, at least if I understand that term correctly.

I'm pretty happy with the quality for what I paid as well.

Now I finally get to use that most thrown around acronym on these forums...YMMV.

I bought the RR TTO (my first razor). It's very aggressive if you're new to DE shaving, especially if you're not used to keeping proper technique and shave angle. I would personally buy a EJ beginner razor (EJ86 or 89).

On the subject of the RR Classic TTO, mine just arrived, and I'm going to try it out tomorrow. What blades do you guys recommend? I had planned on trying out a Feather, but it sounds as if that might be too aggressive a combo. I'm only recently back to DE wet shaving, but I've been shaving with blades for well over 50 years. TIA.
