Razorock Cacao

three-tu-tu, three-tu-tu
I tried my new Razorock Cacao cream today and was fairly unhappy. I may have used a little too much water. The lather was unbelievable - it exploded in my cup. I've been using CF Lavender, so maybe it's an unfair comparison (it certainly was cheap enough), but I tried it because of all the good reviews here. Too much razor burn for my liking. Maybe it's just a case of to each his own, but I will try to get a little thicker lather next time.

Just used the cacao last night. Very nice, lathered easily but like other croaps, you have to really watch how much water you add. Very fine line between just right and way too much.

Funny, I tried XXX this morning and when I lathered it, it went from the consistency of Play-Dough to pretty thin and bubbly. I added on a few drops of water at a time and could not get the yogurt-like consistency I prefer. I love the scent, though. It seemed to shave OK and didn't dry too fast.

I tend to add more product instead of water when it gets thin and bubbly until in gets to a thick creamy stage and then at that point do I begin to add just a few drops of water until I get the lather that I like.

Not to be disrespectful, but I think you guys just might not have figured out the RazoRock soap-to-water ratio yet or how to work this particular soap in the bowl or on your face. I get dense yogurty lather every time I use the Original or XXX, but, like any soap, it took a few test latherings to get it just right. Ultimately it might just be a case of this product not being one of your personal faves, but the soap itself is certainly capable of getting to the perfect consistency.

I dislike calling it this as it's a common method of making lather and nothing original about it, but "Marco's method" seems to work well at getting guys over the hump with these kinds of soap.

I used my RR cacao for the 2nd time tonight and it was pretty hard to figure out the right water ratio, at first I thought I had used too little product so I ditched the bubbly lather then I tried again with a good amount of product and I still couldn't get the lather like some of my other creams/soaps. Adding insult to injury, my lips started burning when I put the lather on my face so I'm thinking I might've had a bad reaction to it, I'm a little disappointed but I'll give it a third try as according to my notes the first time I used it I had a good shave.
