Nice shots. Notice how much darker the Amici knot is compared to the SOC. I noticed the same thing with mine.

Please please please... I do not recommend this; depending on the PH of the soap you will destroy the knot. I don't know the chemical properties of Proraso intimately but this doesn't sounds like a great idea... one of the reason to thoroughly rinse an animal hair brush after each use.

Glad you told me, Joe. I won't do it again. It was recommended by someone else to help reduce the funky smell. I'm very, very happy with the Amici. I know I keep saying it but the handle is just...awesome.

Do you think this is a real difference in the composition? I just assumed it was because the boar hair split their ends, so they'd take up more space and make it look visually lighter on whichever had been used more.

I have two test lathers so far but this knot looks like it may be smaller than the SE. The SE is a monster of a brush. I bought it used so perhaps the Amici will open up a lot more. I actually hope it doesn't myself.
