RazoRock "Amici" Brush

Just received confirmation that my brush has arrived! Now I have to wait until I get off work to see what number I have. The suspense is killing me!!!

Let's make this fun. I have a 5 pack of feather blades to whoever can guess my brush number. One guess per person. I will announce the number tonight at 7 p.m. est. Quote this reply with your answer.

Good Luck!!

(Mods please let me know if there is a problem with this. )

I'm going with 23

I think the official announcement was only made here, so people elsewhere may have missed out.

I think this is it. I'm on a couple of other shaving groups, but I only saw the announcement here. Since it was timed with RazoRocktober, it made sense that the limited run would be easily sold out to B&B members only. However other groups are certainly showing a lot of love for all the other RazoRock new releases!

Had my first of many shaves with my Amici, this brush is the face lathering monster I've been searching for. I was going to use XXX but as I'm doing the 12 days of Fatness with MWF till Christmas, I opted for Christmas in Tuscany. What a wonderful soap, it was a fantastic shave, couldn't be happier with both the brush and CIT. I didn't find the brush too scratchy either, of course I'm used to HH brushes so it actually feels softer, and most badgers feel like next to nothing to my face. The only drawback is the brush is so dense it's harder to rinse the soap out, but that's not a bad thing. I have a RV 24x45 TGN finest and the Amici feels more dense than the RV brush. I hope that makes sense. :bored:

Thanks Bruce

I did a little "help it along" bowl lather today. I own quite a few Semogues, and I've only ever followed a break in routine with the first one, an 830. I realized after that, it wasn't necessary and the brush would come into its own from regular use. The Amici is no different, but in my experienced opinion it is stiffer and denser than most other Semogues that have been offered. Thus, I'm going to help it along a bit with some extra lathering for a week or so. I only shave every other day as it is, so this won't be above normal usage for an everyday shaver.

I went to an easy lathering formula today for this bowl lather, RazoRock XX. I almost never take it to the bowl, so its not my strength. But I did get great results and I snapped a pic to share with you guys, 'cuz ya know we all can't get enough pics, right?!

Check it out!

John...Is that a tall stack of Stirling pucks in the background???

Oh, yeah! LOL
It is Jason. I bought them as gifts for my beginning shaver son and my "only uses it cuz I gifted it" shaver Dad. I don't think the soap is all that good, but it does work pretty well in a mug lathering method and I thought that'd work well for them both. But, rethinking things, I'll pick them up something else a little less ambitious and hopeful on my part lol

Has anyone compared the lathering with their Amici vs a 2012 SE? I find the Amici releases it's lather to the face easier. I've always had issues with the SE holding onto the lather and I would usually run out before the third pass and have to squeeze the bristles out to finish that pass.

Well I finally got home to open my amici razor. I recieved number 54. Absolutely love the feel it quite heavy and seems to have great backbone. I will post pictures when I am able to shave with it. Thanks again Italian Barber!!

Stirling has a large and enthusiastic fan base. Excellent vendor. Very creative guy. I PIF'd my Stirling soaps cuz they just weren't for me.

When I first washed any production dust out of my Amici there was some funk smell but after one shave with CIT all I can smell now is Christmas Cake. I'll use it for a MWF shave in the next few days and see if this brush is going to be a soap killer.
