RazoRock "Amici" Brush

#19 finally left the awful state of NY and trekked west, to my door. It brought its friends the 610 and the omega mixed midget. Also XXX and eucris bowl of soap and tube of cream. XXX smells better than I ever imagined which it shares with eucris, only XXX lathers like heaven. Also the amici smells like crap just like my LE SOC did, so I take that as a good thing (the LE is my favorite brush, over a rooney heritage, D01 silvertip and 2 band, SOC boar, simpson chubbys and others).


Just playing about NY btw, I'm a Boston guy.

I have to admit the amici smelled awful when I first got it but the smell was pretty much gone by the time I used it the third night

Though I know you'd have been a wonderful caretaker to my brush, Jeff, some how some way it found it's way here!

RazoRock Amici #1 has arrived. It's everything I'd hoped it would be, and I'm super happy to have it. And #1 as well, that makes it more special and I'm honored to be its owner!

Can't wait to give it a go in the morning. I'm sure from my past Semogue experience it will be a great brush. I'm curious to see if it is any different, as the knot is definitely a different color than any of my others, boar or badger or mixed. Regardless however, it's gonna be a good one!

First go around with the Amici #33 tonight. Builds lather very well and has great backbone. And while the aesthetics of the brush are fantastic, I'm not enamored with the ergonomics. I sincerely appreciate Joe's efforts to make this brush happen, but I doubt I will keep this one-I simply don't like how it feels in the hand.

I was never thrilled with my Caravela ergonomics as well. I prefer the 2012 LE.

I did a test lather tonight and really liked the brush a lot. Felt great in my hand and lathered up my puck of Godrej in a mug better than my SOC 2012 SE did. Great first lather.

4 shaves in with Amici and I am amazed how great this brush feels. The handle is amazing. It is so comfortable to hold and looks so much better in person then in pictures I had seen. It has a good amount of backbone and the perfect amount of scritch. Will be one of my top brushes going forward. For those who own both Amici and the LE, does the LE perform the same? If so then I might have found my next totally unnecessary purchase.

The list looks good so far and I believe #50 will be showing up at my office (for a co-worker) today. So I'll finally get to see one of these beauties up close and pesronal.

There will likely be a few changing hands along the way with trades and sales. Hopefully people don't run in to trouble with asking for numbers publicly or hounding people via unsolicited PM's to purchase or swap numbers.

Sorry for the wet-sandwich post, but let's try to keep the thread on the up-and-up leave the trade and want talk to the BST. We don't want to see it shut down before it's even complete.

Today was my first shave with the Amici. It definitely has a little more scritch than I'm used to, but not uncomfortably so. It was a lather monster though, plenty left over for extra passes.

Today was my fourth or fifth shave with it and it has softened up very nicely. I'm really enjoying using it. It's a great brush.
