These frowns or smiles and bendings up or down confuse me. Are you holding the razor head up or head down? FWIW, when I tighten the head per usual, hold my Flatboy head up and look at it from the side, the blade is curved up in the middle and down on both sides. If I tighten the head more (too tight for me), the curve increases.

Now I understand. I haven’t noticed a curve in that direction with my Flatboy. But I’ll take a look when I get home from work this evening and report back.
OK. I’ve looked carefully. My Flatboy DOES NOT bend the blade on the long edge, as shown in the photo. No smile or frown. It’s straight across. Matter of fact, there’s very little visible bend in the blade on the sides. No more than on my pre-WW2 Tech.
