Razor rotation

I shave every other day for the most part. How many days would you stick with a razor before rotating?

In my arsenal I have a 38C, a slant sledgehammer, 1965 SS, 1963 Slim adjustable, 1961 Fatboy, a couple of older Techs ball end and fat handle, and a1956 Red Tip SS. Also have a Feather travel.

Thanks for the input. I'm sure YMMV but I'd like to get a consensus.

I shave 7 days a week, and rotate my razors to a different one once a week. I have favorites that I use more frequently than others, such as a Red Tip Superspeed.
If your only shaving every other day, I wouldn't rotate sooner than at least a week of shaving, because each razor does shave a little differently.
Because of the variables, after about a week or so, you should be in the groove for that razor, and be able to determine if it "fits" you or not.
Too frequent a change in variables (blades, razors, soap etc) can lead to irritation and discomfort, and is compounded by not knowing which thing is causing it.
Good luck and good shaves.

I would echo that sentiment for it is logical, though sometimes I violate it with the razor, and daily with the soap or cream, well, daily with the brush at least in the summer, hmm, consistency has been said to be the hobgoblin of little minds ...

Nubie question -

Beyond the opportunity to use different razors out of ones collection, what's the purpose of setting up a rotation?

I shave every day and in the last 20 days I used 18 different razors (I keep a log). From the 18, 5 were different vintage Aristocrats. The two repeats were a Senator and a '69 Super Adjustable. Seven of the 18 were open comb. I always remove the blade and rinse it off. I fully clean my razors after every use. I use a new blade after every 4th shave or so. I find this is a lot of fun and it gives me the chance to evaluate the shave quality from each razor. That's why I do it.

No other purpose.
Some folks don't have a rotation at all, just stick to one or two that they have and like. Other guys like to try different ones that they have purchased and have only read about.
